Gassir (KheirX Badia) 1941 DahmanShahwan (unpublished photo by Dr. Frielinghaus) was one of the breeding stallions in the Von Szandtner era after World War II. He is a descendent of the Bint El Bahreyn line through Zareefa, like El Sareei, Maisa or Elwya.
His sire Kheir provides a rare outcross element: his dam Badaouia (c. 1915) came from Emir Ali Husseyn of Mekka, a grey Saklawiyah Shayfiyah from the Hedschas. On the other hand Kheirīs sire Ibn Samhan, a chestnut born 1919 at Bahtim, was by Samhan (paternal halfbrother of Ibn Rabdan) out of Nafaa El Saghira (dam of Mansour). Thus well known and important elements of Egyptian bloodlines also come through Gassir.
Kheir
Gassir was a rather heavy stallion with good substance and legs (except a straight hind leg). Nevertheless he was used in stud and gave some influential get:
Mourad (Gassir X Mabrouka) was one of the head sires in the 1970ties:
Mourad
Mouradīs successor in El Zahraa: Serag El Din out of Safinaz, 1992 Koheilan Krush
Out of Gassirīs daughters we take two examples:
Bint Inas (Gassir X Inas) 1968, Dahman Shahwan, broodmare in Babolna

Nazeefa (Gassir X Nazic) 1967, Koheilan Rodan, foundation mare for Dr. Filsinger, Germany, dam of Nagha by Gharib, foundation mare for the Seidlitz family, granddam of our Nahzle.
